October 2017:Band:
1st October Vamp£4 on the door
Vamp play a variety of Classic rock music from the likes of Free, Led Zeppelin, The Faces & more. They are a classic rock band & though based in South Yorkshire they play all over the north of England. The lineup has been re-Vamped a few times over the years. Steve and Ian are the only remaining members from the original lineup. After a few bass players, Jayne joined the band in 2009, Ian (Jock) joined the band also in 2009. The band are a 'Digital Free Zone', playing Vintage Guitars through old Valve Amps.
8th October The Alligators£4 on the door
Hull band The Alligators are a class line up with Tony Underwood on guitar & vocals, Mike Ollerenshaw on lead vocals & bass & Mark Sedgwick on drums. They are definitely a band best captured in a live situation with a set consisting of some strong originals & covers by legends such as Peter Green, Rory Gallagher, Ry Cooder, the Rolling Stones, as well as the great Stevie Ray Vaughan.
15th October Carnival£4 on the door
More than 20 years ago there was a band called Carnival of Thieves, people left & were replaced by Joolz, Johnny F.D. & Harris. Now, there is a band called The Carnival, a more friendly, funny set of musical bastards you will never hope to find. 5 Albums, 1 E.P. & many, many jaunts around the world later they're still here doing what they do best, playing loud rock/blues & having fun, it HAS to be fun (they leave boredom to the serious, face pulling, shoe gazing bands/musicians).
22nd October Lewis Hamilton£5 on the door
As a guitarist Lewis pays tribute to some of the greatest musicians of the 20th century, taking influence from people like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix & Rory Gallagher. He also incorporates playing styles from more modern blues-rock musicians such as, Joe Bonamassa, Derek Trucks & Matt Schofield. As a vocalist he has developed his own unique & powerful style of singing, while taking influence from the likes of Joe Cocker & Dave Mathews. Lewis also has a talent for recording & runs his own studio where all his music is written, recorded, produced, mixed & mastered by Lewis himself.
29th October 3 Legged Cat£4 on the door
